Saved Views
Keep a repeatable way to look at a collection of notes.
Save a useful question
A memo View stores a name and filter expression for a recurring collection. Use one for a project, reading queue or review routine. Give it a name that tells you what belongs there. A View is a query over notes, not a second copy or a folder that moves their content.
Keep filters understandable
Begin with a filter you have already tested in the interface. If a View becomes empty, check tags, archive state, account and permissions before changing the notes themselves. Automation can list, create, update and delete user memo Views through the API reference.
Create a View that you can test
Sign in and create two private test memos: one tagged #work with an unfinished checkbox, and one tagged #personal with no task. Open Views and its Create view form. Title and filter are required; the optional icon does not affect matching. The UI’s Validate action checks the expression without saving a View.
- Enter the title “Open work tasks” and paste the expression above into Filter.
- Select Validate; expect “Filter expression looks valid”. Correct any error before saving.
- Select Save, then open the saved View. The #work memo should match and the #personal memo should not.
- Complete the checkbox in the #work memo and reload the View. That memo should stop matching.
- Editing or deleting the View changes the saved query; it does not delete the memos.
tag in ["work"] && has_task_list && has_incomplete_tasksUseful filters and empty results
Use the exact tag value without its # prefix inside expressions. Combine predicates with &&, || and !. A valid expression may legitimately match zero notes; first test one simple condition against a memo you own, then add conditions one at a time. Access checks still apply.
| Goal | Expression |
|---|---|
| Pinned notes | pinned |
| Exact project tag | tag in ["work"] |
| No tags | size(tags) == 0 |
| Created in the last day | created_ts >= now - duration("24h") |
| Text contains TODO | content.contains("TODO") |
| Outside spaces | space == null |
